- Meet registration can
be done in one of two ways: through completion of a
paper registration form available at, and submitted
to, the poolside
information table; or through your account set-up here on the
Marlins’ website. It is important to ensure that you
register prior to the event's deadline. This
information is available under that particular event’s link
in the
Events page.
- If this is your swimmer’s
first meet, and they are new to this, then it is advisable to
obtain guidance from their coach as to the appropriateness of
a meet and which events are suitable for them to sign up
for.
- There is usually a limit of the
number of events a swimmer can complete in a day, not including
relays. Often the relays are filled closer to or on the day
of a meet once the coaches know which swimmers they will have
available to fill out a relay team. Typically, the swimmers
on a relay team will swim the event leg that is most closely
matched to their best stroke.
- Completion of the paper form is
fairly straightforward and the volunteers at the table can assist
with getting the form(s) filled out. Payment can then be made at the table when these
forms are completed.
- To register via the website, go
to the
Events and select the meet of interest by clicking on the
"Attend this Event" button. This will take you to
the Event Signup page. For each eligible swimmer
that you have on the team, their name will be listed here as a
link. Select their name and, using the "Declaration"
pulldown menu, declare their intention to attend or not attend the
meet. Then select the "Save Changes" button. Now, back
on the Event Signup page you should see "Committed" next to that
swimmer's name.
